Facility Safety & Fire Walkthrough

Harbor Lane Coffee Company

A fictional business used for illustration. Findings, photos, and details in a real report describe your site.

Prepared by Ivanyuk Consulting
Advisory field review
Suite-level scope, mixed-use building

Executive summary

The walkthrough covered arrival and exterior, customer areas, back of house, storage, and the electrical room under the agreed scope. Most reviewed items were satisfactory. Three findings are documented below: one high-priority exit-path obstruction, one lapsed extinguisher service tag, and one wiring practice corrected during the visit. Recommended actions are listed per finding with a suggested order of work. This review reflects visible conditions on the visit date and the records made available.

Findings

F-01High priorityOpen

Rear exit path blocked by storage

Location: Back of house, corridor to the rear exit door

Observed: Stacked delivery boxes and a rolling rack narrow the exit corridor to roughly 14 inches and partially block the rear exit door.

Recommended action: Relocate storage so the full exit path and door swing stay clear at all times. Establish a marked no-storage zone and add it to the closing checklist.

Basis: Exit routes must remain free and unobstructed; local fire code/AHJ

F-02Medium priorityOpen

Fire extinguisher service tag lapsed

Location: Front counter, wall-mounted extinguisher

Observed: The annual service tag on the front-counter extinguisher shows a service date more than one year old. Mounting, signage, and access are otherwise satisfactory.

Recommended action: Schedule annual service with a licensed extinguisher company and retain the updated tag and receipt with the facility records.

Basis: Portable extinguisher annual maintenance; local fire code/AHJ

F-03Corrected on siteCorrected during the visit

Extension cord used as permanent wiring

Location: Prep area, counter appliance

Observed: A household extension cord routed under a mat supplied a counter appliance. The cord was removed during the walkthrough and the appliance relocated to a wall receptacle.

Recommended action: None outstanding. If the original layout is needed, have a licensed electrician add a receptacle at the point of use.

Basis: Flexible cords are not a substitute for fixed wiring; local fire/electrical code
