Free readiness self-check
Fifteen answers.
A clearer picture.
Walk your space with the same eye an inspector brings. These fifteen items come from the same field system behind our full 258-checkpoint walkthrough. Nothing you answer here is stored or sent anywhere—this page runs entirely in your browser.
How it works
Answer honestly. Flag what you cannot verify.
Pick Yes, Needs work, or Not sure for each item. Not sure counts as a flag on purpose—if an owner cannot verify it, an inspector will.
01Exit doors open from the inside without a key or special knowledge, and stay unlocked whenever people are inside.
02Exit routes, aisles, and stairways are clear of storage, deliveries, and equipment.
03Illuminated exit signs are lit, undamaged, and pass the test-button check.
04Emergency lighting works on the test button and covers the path to the exits.
05Fire extinguishers are mounted, visible, accessible, and carry a service tag dated within the last year.
06The street address is clearly visible from the road, both day and night.
07Electrical panels have clear working space in front of them, closed covers, and no missing breaker blanks.
08Extension cords and power strips are not daisy-chained and are not used in place of permanent wiring.
09Storage stays out of the required clearance zone below sprinkler heads or the ceiling, and nothing hangs from sprinkler piping.
10The fire alarm panel shows normal status, and horns, strobes, and pull stations are unobstructed.
11Sprinkler risers, control valves, and the fire department connection are accessible and unobstructed.
12Flammable liquids are kept in approved containers, in limited quantities, away from ignition sources.
13Water heater, furnace, electrical, and mechanical rooms are free of unrelated combustible storage.
14An evacuation map is posted, and the people who work here know the assembly point.
15Emergency contact information and utility shutoff locations are documented and current.
